Importance of the first amendment

The first amendment comes into play in everyday life. Presonally, I like to consider myself an "Activist" or a; "An especially active, vigorous advocate of a cause, especially a political cause.". Without the first Amendment, I wouldn't be able to express my opinions so openly. I wouldn't have the right to dispute, debate or protest anything.
